Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant

Had dinner with family at Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant with my family the other day. Have been quite long since I had abalone. It tastes not bad in general, but not something I fancy a lot too. But I would love to have it time to time ^^

Deep-fried Squid Roll & Toast Roll

The cracker was like soft and chewy, not crunchy. And the squid roll was nothing fantastic. I expected a better appetizer because this was overly fried..

Double-boiled Fish Maw with "Tianshan" Snow Lotus

The soup was great and my mum said that it's very good for health. So no harm drinking more!!! I just hate eating the soup ingredients :x

Stewed Whole Fresh Abalone with Japanese Mushroom & Kale

The main course is here!!! The abalone was very tasteful and chewy. I cut my abalone into small pieces so I could savour it slowly.

Deep-fried Fish Fillet with Honey Pepper

I didn't like this dish, all I felt was the heaty fried skin which was super unhealthy. I think my maid can do a better job in frying fish fillet honestly.

Baked Boston Lobster (Half) with Superior Stock

This was my favourite dish. Lobster has been one of my favourite seafood so it was awesome to have this dish in the set meal! The sauce complimented the sweet and savoury lobster meat really well, but I just had a little problems taking the flesh out of the shell.

I forgot to snap a photo of the Braised E-fu Noodle (草菇焖伊面) because I didn't eat it. I don't really like to eat this kind of noodles..

Double-boiled Bird's Nest with Almond Juice

Bird nest is good!!! BUTTTTT. I really hate Almond taste. Almond nut is ok, but definitely not in flavouring. I just gulped the whole thing down my throat because it's good for my skin!! Why does healthy food always taste not as good as those unhealthy ones ):

Overall, it was only an average dining experience. Only the expensive items are up to standard, the rest were either average or below average..
