Mad for Garlic, literally.

For people who enjoy the aroma and taste of garlic, Mad for Garlic might be something you would want to try out. But always remember to pack some mint along with you (If you get what I mean). For pastas priced above $20, I usually consider them expensive. After all, it's one of the easiest dish that can be self-prepared in your kitchen. So I never prioritized trying out this place before, until I had the Entertainer App 1-for-1. 

The restaurant is located at a not-too-prominent area, it's tucked away in a corner beside Starbucks and Din Tai Fung. And in case the name isn't evident enough, they have loads of garlic decor all over the restaurant, seemingly a tactic to ward off vampires?

If garlics were used to repel vampires, they certainly have an opposite effect on me. 

For those who are not appealed by the restaurant's garlic theme, you don't have to worry that you will get garlic pieces in your mouth in every single bite. Instead, I find that the pasta and rice has a more pleasant aroma and delicious taste. Besides, garlic is a common ingredient used to enhance the cooking, so I don't see why you should give this a miss.

I had a huge dilemma between choosing this and Garlicpeno pasta. The thing that was holding me back, was that the pasta did not contain any meat. Sorry to say, but no meat is a no-no for me. And I found it such a pity. They could have added in shrimps or even ham, at the very least. 

I have to say that I had no regrets ordering the Lobster Cream Pasta. In fact, it tempted me to order it again on the second visit. The cream was aromatic and not too thick at the same time. You know how cream pastas kinda make you fill sick at the end of the meal? Nope, not for this. I finished and slurp every single strand of pasta till the end. It was realllyyyyy good. The lobster was succulent and sweet, the portion wasn't too small too.

I was a little surprised when the plate arrived, because I was expecting to see chicken chunks instead of a whole chicken chop (Which is great, because portion is bigger). The pasta had this Japanese taste, after all, it's called Teriyaki isn't it? I think it's not a bad choice if you want more meat over pasta.

Compared to the pasta, the rice has a more "garlicky" taste, which added to the fragrance. The grilled chicken leg was decent, though nothing too memorable. But I did remember getting bored of my dish towards the end and I could not really finish it. I guess it's just not my type, or it is better to share in smaller portions. 

The lobster cream pasta is a must try if you visit Mad for Garlic. Personally, I would really love to try Garlic Snowing Pizza soon!

And I'm seriously thankful for the Entertainer app!!!! Saves me so much $$$$$$.
